I bought these shoes on sale to compare them to my favorite Adidas Superstars, especially considering their similar look and price difference. I wanted something durable enough to justify the cost but affordable enough that I wouldn’t mind replacing them if I liked them. I feel like I got exactly what I was looking for. While I’m not sure I’d buy another pair since they won’t replace my Superstars, they’re definitely impressive for the sale price.
The break-in period took about a week since they start off a bit stiff at the toe. You might notice the shoe bending awkwardly at first as the synthetic leather adapts while you walk. If you have wider feet, this may be less noticeable compared to my narrow feet. Despite needing some time to break in, they’re quite comfortable right out of the box.
The Cloudfoam is fantastic. Adidas typically has comfortable insoles and midsoles, and these are no exception. The design is also reminiscent of their classic styles, closely resembling my Superstars (which normally retail for $110) with only a few minor differences. For instance, the back lip shape is slightly different, there’s no hard rubber shell at the toe, and the perforations between the stripes are missing. The stripes themselves are positioned closer together, and notably, the Adidas logo is replaced with just the name. I believe the upper material is made of over 40% recycled polyester, giving it a synthetic leather feel, which is a nice bonus, especially since it seems quite durable. However, compared to the Superstars, these shoes are roomier at the toe and fit more loosely on narrow feet. Personally, I still find the Superstars much more comfortable and familiar, so I don’t expect these to overshadow them.
Overall, they present a cleaner, less flashy version of the Superstar. They’re extremely comfortable and supportive for a synthetic shoe. I’ll keep wearing them to see if my opinion changes, but I anticipate sticking with my Superstars more often, especially since I can buy two pairs during holiday sales for the price of one.
That said, everyone has different preferences, and these are solid shoes for what they are. It’s a relatively new model, and Adidas has done well with them!

Since that initial experience about a month and a half ago, he hasn’t experienced any slipping or falls. I deducted one star for “value for money” because although I thought I scored a deal at just under $63, the price dropped to under $45 about a month later. I really dislike when that happens! I hope you find this review helpful, as buying shoes online can be tricky without trying them on first.
